Disability and Design

In this live-streamed event, a series of speakers explore the question of ‘How do you create equitable and accessible buildings?’ Led by experts specialising in the design, construction and maintenance of accessible buildings - including Zoe Partington, Co-Founder of DisOrdinary Architecture - the discussion looks at the need for access and inclusion to be considered from the very outset and through every stage of a building project.

This event took place as part of the Royal Institute of British Architect's Inclusion by Design Festival in October 2020. Other contributions came from Avril Chester (Disability Executive Champion at RIBA), Jane Simpson (architect and access consultant), Jean Hewitt (Buro Happold), Ed Warner (founder of Motionspot), Martin Burgess (Access Consultant and Building Control) and Julie Fleck OBE (author of ‘Are You an Inclusive Designer?).
