We’re delighted to share that we’ve recently commissioned a pilot series for our brand new podcast ‘DisOrdinary Dialogues’.

DisOrdinary Dialogues are explorations of spaces, ideas and concepts relating to the experiences and lived realities of Disabled artists and architects. Building on DisOrdinary Architecture’s recent ‘Many More Parts than M! publication, these dialogues explore how we can engage with built environment accessibility in ways that take us beyond conventional checklists, design guidance and legal compliance and instead create alternative concepts, stories and artistic work that can creatively and critically inform design thinking and practice.

The pilot has been made possible by our recent Supporting Act Foundation funding, alongside the space and support lent by Ria Bartlett (Learning Programmes Manager, British Library), and marks the beginning of this new platform for exploration, advocacy and creativity.

The pilot conversations are being developed by Mandy Redvers-Rowe (Blind Theatre Producer, Writer and Actor) together with Tom Walker (Partially Sighted Sound Engineer) and focus on a series of themes from DisOrdinary Architecture’s recent ‘Many More Parts Than M’ publication – Beauty, Imperfect and (Un)Shared Spaces. Involving a variety of voices from across the architecture and creative sectors, contributions include those from: Poppy Levison, Zoe Partington and many more!
