Building on previous projects with the school, The DisOrdinary Architecture Project was invited to play a key role in both the Royal Academy of Design in Copenhagen Summer School and an new introductory project for all Masters’ students.

The week-long summer school, open to students internationally and led by Anne Brandhoj from the Academy, began with introductory workshops by Zoe Partington, Helen Stratford and Jos Boys. Following the workshops, students worked to develop their ideas with Academy tutors, which were then displayed as an exhibition at the International Union of Architects (UIA) World Congress being held in the city, with a special focus on the UN ‘Leave No One Behind” agenda.

In the Autumn of 2023, Jos Boys returned to Copenhagen, together with disabled artist David Dixon, to facilitate an introductory workshop for all the Academy’s new Masters’ students, as part of their initial cross-course project, called ‘Together’, which asked how we can – with our individual bodies, needs, wishes and preferences – negotiate with each other and share spaces, activities or experiences, without excluding others or feeling excluded by others.
