Bodies of Difference

TYPE: Workshop

YEAR: 2018

LOCATION: Copenhagen

Photo of four people at a skate park holding up a fifth person at an angle so they are holding their top half and their feet are flat on the steep ramp and they are at a nearly 90 degree angle.

This week-long workshop at the Royal Academy of Design Copenhagen asked all new Masters students to create an experience/situation to celebrate bodily differences; designing new relations between bodies and environments, by adapting and transforming immediate environments.

For DisOrdinary Architecture Project, disabled artists Noemi Lakmaier, Raquel Meseguer and Dave Dixon, together with DisOrdinary Architecture Co-Founder Jos Boys, ran introductory workshops at the beginning of the week to open students up to different and embodied ways of exploring experiential relationships to built space, based on creatively playing with difference and diversity.
