During 2023 DisOrdinary Architecture have continued their ongoing relationship with the Royal Academy of Design in Copenhagen, by being involved in both a Summer School and the introductory project for all Masters’ students in September.

The week-long summer school, open to students internationally and led by Anne Brandhoj from the Academy, began with introductory workshops by Zoe Partington, Helen Stratford and Jos Boys. Students then went on to develop their ideas with Academy tutors, which were then displayed as an exhibition at the International Union of Architects (UIA) World Congress being held in the city, with a special focus on the UN ‘Leave No One Behind” agenda.

In the Autumn, Jos Boys returned to Copenhagen, together with disabled artist David Dixon, to facilitate an introductory workshop for all the Academy’s new Masters’ students, as part of their initial cross-course project, called Together, which asked how we can – with our individual bodies, needs, wishes and preferences – negotiate with each other and share spaces, activities or experiences, without excluding others or feeling excluded by others.
